International Students Participated in Voluntary Tree Planting and Zeno Cultural Festival of Gansu Province

In order to enable the international students to deeply understand Gansu and promote culture exchange, on April 20th, School of International Cultural Exchange, Lanzhou University organized international students to participate in public welfare activities such as voluntary tree planting and the 4th Zeno International Cultural Festival.
On the morning of the 20th, April, under the theme of "Planting Friendship Trees and Building Global Village", the tree planting festival and the award for outstanding international students were held at Huangyangtou Forest Farm, Gaolan County, sponsored by Gansu International Cultural Exchange Association. The leaders of Gansu International Cultural Exchange Association participated in the launching ceremony.On behalf of the education units of international students in various universities,Zhao Zebin, Secretary of the school of International Cultural Exchange,Lanzhou University,delivered a speech. More than 500 international students from Lanzhou University, Northwest Normal University and Lanzhou Polytechnic University participated in the ceremony. Thirteen international students of our school were awarded the title of “Excellent International Student”. After the launching ceremony, all teachers and students shoveled the soil, watered the seedlings, helped each other, and successfully completed the task of tree planting.
After the event, Sang Mu, an award-winning student of our school, said “I am very happy to meet friends from different countries today. Moreover, I have gained some knowledge about environmental protection and hope that China will become greener in the future”.
On April 20, the international students of our university also participated in the activities related to the Fourth Zeno International Cultural Festival, which was held at Lanzhou Center.
