Reading ten thousand books is like traveling ten thousand miles.In view of the teaching characteristics of International students in China, the School of International and Cultural Exchange has organized nearly 300 international students to carry out summer school cultural outing who were divided into five groups, closely following the themes of "China's national conditions" and "Outstanding traditional Chinese culture". On September 18^th, all the teachers and student representatives gathered at the 16th classroom of Xinglin Building to hold a summary report of the cultural outing.

After the vice Dean of the school Liu Xiaoyan introduced the requirements of the report and the rules of scoring, the students and teachers led by the team leader took turns to demonstrate what they have learned. After a fierce competition, Luoyang Team became the winner and eight international students, including SARVINOZ OBIDOVA from Uzbekistan, won the reputation of "Star of Practice of the school of International and Cultural Exchange in the year of 2019"

This summer school cultural outing has remarkable achievements. After the preparations and the explanations from the teacher, the students had a thorough understanding of China's national conditions and excellent traditional Chinese culture by observations and discussions. NGOC DIEP THAN THI from Vietnam said，"This practice is of great significance to me. It not only allowed us experience the history and culture of China, but also enabled us understand the tremendous changes that have taken place in modern China in the past 40 years after the reform and opening up. This event makes us realize that China not only has a profound and long history, but also has a vast and boundless future.”“The school of International Cultural Exchange has provided us with a valuable opportunity to study outside campus. I would like to thank my teachers for their guidance in my study.”, KEMBEU TIMNOU from Cameroon said. MOHAMMED AHMED ABDO AL-HADDAD from Yemen said,"I hope that all the international students can become excellent people! Efforts should be made to promote exchanges and communication between China and the world and to build bridges and ambassadors for cultural exchanges between China and the world.

    At the summary, Dean of the school Zhang Wengang affirmed the achievements of the summer school cultural outing. He asked everyone to make further efforts, earnestly sum up and reflect the experiences and suggestions from the teachers, follow the laws of education and teaching, integrate school classes with extracurricular practice, and achieve the unity of knowledge and practice. What’s more, we should make foreign students fully aware of the tremendous changes that have taken place in the past 40 years since China's reform and opening up. Meanwhile, we strengthen the education of China’s national conditions, and strive to improve the  teaching quality for international students in China.
