An Orientation was held for International Students in SICE, LZU

With the students returning to the LZU, given the security concerns, an orientation on law and regulations was held for international students in Students Center Hall on March 30, 2023.
Weina Zhao and Wucheng Zhu, Deputy Directors of Exit and Entry Management Department of Lanzhou Public Security Bureau, Cai Licheng, the section Chief of the Foreign Affairs Management Division, Bai Mingzu, a police officer, as well as Tingting Wei, a staff from the Lanzhou Mobile Drug Control Base, and Zhang Shurong, an instructor from the Mental Health Education and Consultation Center of LZU were invited to the orientation. The orientation was presided over by Guichang Hao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the SICE.
Mingzu Bai elaborated regulations on the accommodation registration of foreigners coming to China, passport management, visa management, and the management of work-study programs that students are concerned about.
Tingting Wei introduced the most common prohibited drugs to students, and she combined case studies to explain the dangers of taking drug. Meanwhile, she provided professional training for students on how to effectively identify drugs and refuse taking drugs.
Zhang Shurong made an introduction to the mental health center from the aspects of its duties and psychological counseling methods, and he also gave an invitation to students to experience and communicate in the mental health center.
Cai Li gave an emphasis on abiding rules and regulations and raising safety awareness during their stay in Lanzhou, and he introduced some ways to prevent telecommunications fraud. He interacted with students and answered their questions.
Shan Wang, manager of International Student Admissions Office, Xiujun Yang, manager of the International Student Teaching Office, and Xiaoya Ma, from the International Student Management Office explained policies and regulations from the aspects of admission, learning management regulations, student enrollment status management, scholarship evaluation and distribution, respectively.
Guichang Hao summarized the conference and gave an expectation that students can comply with national laws and regulations and other relevant management policies of SICE, raise their legal and safety awareness, adapt to campus life as soon as possible, set their academic goals and pursue their dreams.
